New Underground House

This is a small site which had a refused planning consent and a dismissed appeal for a two storey house. The client had bought the property as a vacant plot with this knowledge, and asked us if we thought it would be possible to amend the design and overcome the original reasons for refusal.

We worked in conjunction with a Landscape Architect and produced a scheme which both fulfilled the clients brief and overcame all of the reasons for rejection.

The scheme we submitted to the Council was approved this year under the delegated process

Converted Barns to residential use

A rural site in Wiltshire contained two barns that were used for storage around an old farmyard. The site had an outline planing consent to convert the buildings to 3 dwellings. Because of the nature of the site we deemed that it would be unecomonical to convert them into 3 units. We discussed various options with our client and it was decided that we should submit a scheme to the Council for a change of use to 4 dwellings. It was discovered during the application process that one of the barns was a roost for a protected Bat species the Lesser Horseshoe. Working with a Bat specialist and after a lengthy but fruitful negotiating period with the Local Authority the plans were modified and the scheme permitted.

Office and Flat development scheme

We were commissioned to work on a scheme where lack of information and detail from the previous Designer had caused an application to falter at the planning stage. Working in conjunction with international firm King Sturge we prepared design drawings and a design and access statement for an office and flat scheme which obtained approval last year.
